Overview

The School of Law at the University of Jordan, Aqaba Branch, was established in 2021, however, teaching in the school commenced in the academic year 2022/2023. The School of Law, Aqaba Branch, seeks to achieve the royal vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II of establishing a branch of the University of Jordan in Aqaba Governorate. The School of Law aims to graduate qualified law practitioners equipped with knowledge of the legal sciences which would enable them to occupy advanced career positions. The School of Law also aims to graduate distinguished pioneering law practitioners knowledgeable of legal education and professional in conducting research in the field of law. Moreover, the School of Law aspires to be a center of education excellence in the region and thus achieve a prominent position among world university rankings. 

The School of Law seeks to ensure the provision of qualified and diverse teaching staff members from the various legal disciplines; staff who are capable of enhancing the process of interactive legal education, keeping up with the various advancements in legal education, and employing educational technology in the teaching learning process to facilitate online distant legal education. The School of Law is eager to create collaborative partnerships with other schools of law in the country, in the region and worldwide with the aim of exchanging experiences and knowledge in legal education. The School of Law also aims to create partnerships with various external partners from the local community such as courts, government institutions, private companies, and lawyers' law offices in Aqaba. Such partnerships would provide students with practical training that would in turn enhance their knowledge of theoretical legal education, enhance their legal competencies, and prepare them to master the law profession and be competitive in the labor market.​
